How to Create Your Inner Self


The greatest part of life, is discovering ourselves and finding out who we really are. Finding your inner self – but I like to call it ‘creating’ your inner self. I know a lot of people that go about their day to day lives, myself being one of them, not realizing their true potential.. I am here to tell you how I did so.


First things first…

I started off by looking back at all my achievements and proud moments, in my life. I forced myself to even look at the tiniest of achievements – I am an introvert so I don’t like to show off to the world what I’m proud of. Introverts tend to like to keep a lot of things to themselves. Pointing out these achievements, highlighting the small things, can make a massive impact on your life, even though it may not seem that way. Analyse these moments. What made them so special? How did you feel after achieving these things?



Write things down…

Make a list of the things you are good at and the things you enjoy. This was you can marry things up that you are good at and also that you enjoy – that way you can figure out a way to pursue your passion in such subject. For me it’s painting and baking. I love both and I’ve been told I’m pretty good at it. I may think I’m a little good at it myself but lets not get carried away. So, I pursued my passions and I am now receiving requests for paintings and also cakes. I couldn’t be happier. It’s good to have things like this, especially if you have a busy life like me – being exhausted all the time and all.



Future. What does this word mean to you? What does this word mean in your life? Do you want to get married, have children and live happily ever after? Or do you want to do something in life that’s worth talking about – something you can tell the grandchildren when you’re old and grey? I know what I want. It helps to know what you want when finding your inner self. Knowing what you want in life can help you discover yourself and explore. If you want to travel the world to eventually become a travel journalist, do it. If you want to settle down and have children and grow old with your partner, do it and start planning now. Having a plan can be very beneficial. There will no doubt be slip ups along the way and changes to your plan that you wouldn’t expect, but that’s the beauty of life.




This is a hot topic on my blog. I can’t write a blog post without mentioning Mindfulness. Practising mindfulness can help to strengthen one’s inner self. Taking time out to think about particular aspects of your life, that you may not be happy with, can bring a piece of mind to said situations. It certainly helps me a lot when it comes to decision making. When thinking about the choices you have to make in a busy environment, your brain has a tantrum and doesn’t want to make it’s mind up – I know this from experience. Mindfulness and meditation go hand in hand. Try it, I can assure you, things will seem a whole lot better – trust me on this one. I’ve mentioned this book again before but I’m going to tell you anyway. ‘Mindfulness for Every Day’ is the most helpful book, when practising Mindfulness – in my opinion anyway. It contains little ideas for ways to stay mindful in every day life. Give it a read – you won’t be disappointed.












Express Yourself…

Show yourself to the world. Let them know your worth and what you stand for. Don’t be afraid to hold back because of what other’s may think. You are you and no one can change that. Expressing yourself plays a big part in creating your inner self.
